Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella Says He Dreams of a World Where Everyone Has an AI Assistant

In response to a question in an interview with Wired, Satya Nadella stated that his ambition was for “each of the 8 billion people on Earth to have an AI tutor, an AI doctor, a programmer, maybe a consultant.”

He was also questioned about whether he agreed with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman that humans would eventually reach the bar for AGI superintelligence during the same interview.

Nadella answered by saying that he is more concerned about the advantages of AI than he is with AGI.

“I’m much more focused on the benefits to all of us. I am haunted by the fact that the industrial revolution didn’t touch the parts of the world where I grew up until much later.

So I am looking for the thing that may be even bigger than the industrial revolution, and really doing what the industrial revolution did for the West, for everyone in the world.

So I’m not at all worried about AGI showing up or showing up fast. Great, right? That means 8 billion people have abundance. That’s a fantastic world to live in,” he said.

In November 2022, ChatGPT was made public and rapidly became the buzz of the IT community. Within a few months of its debut, conversations about the popular AI chatbot and how users are coming up with innovative uses for it had taken over the IT world.

ChatGPT has helped a lot of individuals up to this point, with requests ranging from asking it to write love poetry to seek its advice on how to make money and launch a successful company.

And Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella envisions a time when artificial intelligence would play some role in assisting each and every individual on the planet.
